I tried to uninstall avg and got the message: Updating in progress.If that does not help, please perform full reinstallation as described. Running update must be finished before starting installation ... I removed old installations as directed and tried (twice) to install the new. Dan Hello Dusan, I couldn't reply below - perhaps nested too deep?AVG has withdrawn their recent update after reports that it caused an infinite loop on Windows7 64 bit systems. This is not the first time AVG has had this sort of problem and it probably won’t be the last.

Hello dakisan, Log file points to error with updating Link Scanner database. I ran chkdsk and it reported no errors on the drive.
Please try to enable administrator account temporarily, log into the account and try to install AVG.
